Hyaluronic Acid For Skin

Around 50% of your total hyaluronic acid production is located in skin tissues. This tells us its crucial for skin. Natural aging and exposure to radiation from the sun and pollution can decrease hyaluronic acid levels in the skin. Doses of 120–240 mg per day for at least one month have been shown to significantly increase skin moisture and reduce dry skin in adults.

In a 2017 a Japanese study indicated that hyaluronic acid supplements did support skin health. The researchers randomly assigned the study participants to either a treatment of hyaluronic acid or a placebo. The participants who ingested the hyaluronic acid supplements experienced a decrease in wrinkles and an improvement in skin condition compared with those in the placebo group.
