We all know the multi-health benefits of broccoli, but most are not aware that broccoli contains sulforaphane. Sulforaphane is a highly respected compound in broccoli that has a growing number of health benefits, as has been shown in various studies.

Sulforaphane influences the production of protective enzymes and helps support the immune system to reduce inflammatory and oxidative molecules that cause cell damage. Sulforaphane also has a high bioavailability absorption rate, which supports its many health benefits.

Sulforaphane works by boosting a molecule called Nrf2, which protects cells by switching on antioxidant genes within cell tissues that defend against attack. Broccoli also supplies calcium, vitamin K, soluble fibre, vitamin C, flavonoids, lutein, zeaxanthin, indole-3-carbinol and beta-carotene, which are all beneficial for health.
